School of Caribbean Ancestors (S.O.C.A) provides authentic Caribbean teachings and presentations in schools through dance, performances, and workshops.
Curriculum Connections:
Dance, movement and cultural awareness, music appreciation, attentive viewing and listening, rhythms, Personal and Social Development, creative expression & creation.
Dance Program:
Students will be taught various movements to Caribbean music. Moves will be joined together to create a choreographed piece.
Create: Students will be separated into groups and must incorporate the required guidelines given by the instructor.
Perform: Groups will have the opportunity to perform in front of the class. (Full week Residency)
Grade:K- 12
Score sheet provided by S.O.C.A Instructor.
